Remember GX: Baiku Yao

Named for mens’ white canvas trousers, the Baiku Yao (translated to “White-Trouser Yao”) are a subgroup of the official Yao ethnic minority in China. Centered in the single county of Nandan, they number 40000 people, half of who work in factories far from home. In the past, the Baiku Yao believed that when traders bartered for their hair, that hair would be cursed and plagues would follow. Since then, the Baiku Yao rarely cut their hair and even keep strands that fall out.

And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

G has numbered every hair on our heads. May He show the Baiku Yao His care and love, so they won’t be bound by evil and fear, but find peace in him.
